Alpha Ketoanalogues
Ketoalfa contains alpha ketoanalogues of essential amino acids, designed for the nutritional management of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on conservative therapy (Stages I–III). These ketoanalogues utilize endogenous nitrogen to form essential amino acids, thereby maintaining nitrogen balance and reducing urea generation in uremic patients.
When used in combination with a low protein or very low protein diet, Ketoalfa helps delay the progression of kidney disease during the predialysis phase while supporting nutritional status.

MODE OF ACTION:
In patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), it is important to reduce the build-up of nitrogenous waste to prevent further kidney damage. Ketoalfa contains alpha ketoanalogues that use nitrogen from non-essential amino acids to form essential amino acids. This process helps reduce urea formation and the accumulation of harmful toxins in the body.
When used along with a low-protein or very low-protein diet, Ketoalfa helps maintain nutritional balance and lower metabolic burden. This combination can also help delay the need for dialysis and reduce the risk of disease progression in patients with advanced CKD.
