Product range to ensure patients’ mental well being
Neurodegenerative diseases represent a major threat to human health. These age-dependent disorders are becoming increasingly prevalent, in part because the elderly population has increased in recent years. Examples of Neurodegenerative diseases are Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Frontotemporal dementia. These diseases are diverse in their pathophysiology – with some causing memory and cognitive impairments and others affecting a person’s ability to move, speak and breathe. Effective treatments are desperately needed but will only come with a deep understanding of the causes and mechanisms of each disease.
Hundreds of millions of people worldwide are affected by neurological disorders. More than 6 million people die because of stroke each year; over 80% of these deaths take place in low- and middle-income countries. More than 50 million people have epilepsy worldwide. It is estimated that there are globally 47.5 million people with dementia with 7.7 million new cases every year – Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and may contribute to 60–70% of cases.
Alniche decided to launch Neuropsychiatry division for the country catering to the diseases as severe as Epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Stroke, Schizophrenia and Neuropathic Pain. We hope it will facilitate and provide the best possible care for people who suffer from them.
