Pancreatin enzymes
Creapase (lipase, amylase and protease) is a pancreatic enzyme that helps to digest fat, protein and carbohydrates in the food you eat. However, diseases that affect the pancreas such as cancer of the pancreas, pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, or surgeries that involve the pancreas, may block the release or reduce the amount of digestive enzymes produced by the pancreas.
Without enough pancreatic enzymes, the foods you eat won’t be fully digested and you won’t absorb all the nutrients and calories available from them. This is sometimes called malabsorption, meaning you aren’t absorbing all your nutrition.
COMPOSITION:
Pancreatin (Enteric Coated Pellets) 150mg equivalent to not less than Lipase 10,000 USP units, Protease 37,500 USP Units & Amylase 33,200 USP Units Capsule
Pancreatin (Enteric Coated Pellets) 300mg equivalent to not less than Lipase 25,000 USP units, Protease 62,500 USP Units & Amylase 74,700 USP Units Capsule
MODE OF ACTION:
Pancreatin mixture of lipase, amylase and protease enzymes with lipolytic, amylolytic and proteolytic activity respectively. When the enteric coated capsule reaches the small intestine the coating rapidly disintegrates (at pH > 5.5) to release pancreatic enzymes. These enzymes catalyze the hydrolysis of fats to monoglyceride, glycerol and free fatty acids, proteins into peptides and amino acids, and starches into dextrins and short chain sugars such as maltose and maltotriose in the duodenum and proximal small intestine, thereby acting like digestive enzymes physiologically secreted by the pancreas.
INDICATIONS
- Chronic pancreatitis
- Pancreatic surgery
- Cystic fibrosis
Dosage
500 Units of Lipase/kg
