Sodium Bicarbonate

Auxisoda (Sodium Bicarbonate) is an alkali therapy to manage metabolic acidosis indicated in the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may occur in severe renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes, circulatory insufficiency due to shock or severe dehydration, extracorporeal circulation of blood, cardiac arrest and severe primary lactic acidosis. Sodium bicarbonate acts as an acid neutralizer which helps to neutralize hydrogen ion concentration and raises blood and urinary pH. Auxisoda supplementation is recommended for CKD patients whose bicarbonate lab levels are less than 22 mmol/L. Auxisoda, a base, helps to neutralize and decrease the blood acid levels, reverses the clinical manifestations of acidosis, increases the free bicarbonate ions in urine hence effectively raise the urinary pH.
