Meropenem 1gm+Sulbactum 500mg +EDTA 37.5MG
Meropenem is a broad-spectrum Carbapenems with activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta lactamase inhibitor. It is given in combination with beta lactam antibiotics to inhibit beta lactamase, an enzyme produced by bacteria that destroys the antibiotics. Meropenem and sulbactam in combination exhibit synergistic activity. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a well-known metal-chelating agent. EDTA is the non-antibiotic the adjuvant entity that supports the antibacterial activity of Meropenem and Sulbactam.
COMPOSITION:
Meropenem 1gm+Sulbactum 500mg +EDTA 37.5MG(1.5gm Inj)
INDICATIONS
- Pneumonia
- Meningitis
- Complicated Urinary tract infection
- Skin and skin structure infection
- Lower Respiratory Tract infections
- Nosocomial infection
Dosage
1-2 g depending on the severity and dosage should be continued every 8 hours
