Meropenem
Auxinem (Meropenem) is used to treat skin and abdominal (stomach area) infections caused by bacteria and meningitis (infection of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord) in adults and children 3 months of age and older. Meropenem injection is in a class of medications called antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria that cause infection.
COMPOSITION:
Meropenem 500mg/1000mg injection
MODE OF ACTION:
Meropenem prevents bacteria from forming the walls that surround them. The walls are necessary to protect bacteria from their environment and to keep the contents of the bacterial cell together. Bacteria cannot survive without a cell wall. Meropenem is effective against susceptible strains of E. coli, H. influenzae, K. pneumoniae, N. meningitidis, P. aeruginosa, and many other bacteria.
